As some of you may know, I’m quite a fan of Body Thrills. Not only are their products great but they’re not super expensive. That’s a win.
Good ol’ Body Thrills currently have some pretty awesome specials running which I think you guys should run off and purchase. Okay, no running, just click here -> Body Thrill Specials! <- and spend your money. It’s worth it.
I have quite a pile of Body Thrills products growing in my bathroom and yet, I want more. What can say, I’m a sucker for things that work well and smell amazing.
Have you guys heard of Upcycle That? It’s a great website that gathers together some of the coolest ideas for taking your old stuff and making it into something awesome.
According to the website, this what upcycling is all about – “It’s taking something that you would otherwise throw out and finding a way to make it into something else.”
I recently turned 23 (woohoo!) and I was so sure I’d wake up feeling “older”. Not old, just older. I’m sure of this every year and yet every time a birthday goes by, I end feeling like a little girl.
When I was 16 I was sure I’d feel like a grown up at 18. When 18 came around, I waited patiently for 21 to make me feel like a woman but alas, no such luck. Now that I’m 23 I’m wondering if I’ll feel like a real adult by the time I hit 25 or once I’m married?
It’s not that I don’t feel responsible. I have my moments and I think I handle responsibility well enough at work.
Maybe my problem is the fact that I have 2 much older siblings so I never really get to catch up, do I? Most of my friends are much older than me too. I don’t have any problem with being the “baby”. I’ve come to accept that, but I want to feel like a woman, you know?
*Awkward moment up ahead*
Maybe it’s got to do with the fact that I’m still a virgin (yes, I’m waiting until Daniel and I get marriage, that’s my right). Ladies, does it make a huge difference? What was your experience?
So, I just thought I’d share that with you and I want to know how all of you feel. When did your “womanhood” kick in? Marriage, motherhood, when you bought your first car? Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading the randomness that is this little post.

(P.S. I wonder how many of you thought I was about to share that I want a sex change…)
Need a natural, delicious-smelling facial scrub? Then you should give this Body Thrills product a try.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of this zesty scrub and it’s honestly quite fantastic.
I have annoying, super sensitive combination skin and it often freaks out on me. I’m very wary of trying just anything on my face but after seeing @ExMi rave about how it’s cleared up her skin, I was willing to give it a try.
Who is Body Thrills?
Body Thrills is a South African company that was “born from the need to create a range of products that are natural, preservative-free and entirely delicious”.
At first glance… and sniff
After screwing off the lid the first thing you smell is lemongrass and lime. It’s super refreshing and reminds me of summer. The grainy feel of the scrub had me thinking of sugar and I could tell it would be a great for exfoliation.
The first use
After wetting my face and scooping out some of the scrub, it was just a matter of rubbing it on my face and neck. I left it to settle for a few moments before washing it off with a face cloth. It was easy to apply and easy to remove which is a big plus in my book as some scrubs can be a pain to wash off.
My face was smooth and soft afterwards. Surprisingly so. I was genuinely impressed. Plus that awesome lemongrass smell hung around for quite sometime.
My skin is tricky so after a couple of hours I applied my usual moisturiser but there are those who’ve reported that they didn’t need to.
What’s in it?
This exfoliating and moisturising scrub is made with lemongrass, juniper berries, lime, lemon, shea butter and almond oil. Sounds good enough to eat!
Price
You can grab a 125ml tub of this yummy scrub for R80. Order it here from the website.
I’m not what you’d call a “girly girl” but this is girly question. Sorry to all the boy readers…
So I like nail varnish (or is it polish? Anyhoo…) and I have a few cheap bottles and a couple of bottles of Essie. They’re all okay but the Essie chips WAY too easily. Even with 3 coats and a top coat on.
So what I want to know from all you ladies is: What is the best nail varnish you’ve ever used?
I don’t mind paying for a decent varnish and I’m willing to wait for it to dry but regarding the chip factor, it needs to last.
Do you ladies have any advice for me? Do I need a base coat to stop the chipping? Let me know in the comments below!
For the last 3 years I’ve sat on a Golden Arrow bus like the one pictured above and I’ve watched people. Often there are new faces but mostly there’s the same steady stream of people getting to work and back.
I’ve seen ladies go from getting married to having a baby soon after. I’ve seen and heard men talk about divorce. I’ve watched toddlers that travel with their mom grow up and now they sit quietly and chat instead of cry.
It’s a load of fun. Often I make up lives for people. In my mind, the pretty girl who looks a bit like a runway model but dresses like a hippy, is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. (She just has that sort of face.) While the jerky awkward guy who keeps trying to chat Pretty Girl up is a real chop. (He, again, just has that sort of face.) Who knows if I’m correct or not? Maybe I’m completely off.
I can’t believe I put off reading this book for so long. As someone who has only recently read David Eddings’ The Belgariad (and loved it), Zoolin Vale had a taste of the same writing.
From the first chapter I was intrigued by the characters and completely sold on the adventure they were embarking on. I haven’t read The Red Stone (the first book by Craig Smith) and yet it was not a struggle in any way to follow the story line or characters. In my opinion, that is a true skill that many authors lack.
I was lucky enough to get my Kindle copy of Zoolin Vale for free but I would gladly pay for it if I had to. It’s a fun, light and compelling read. I was invested in the characters and their emotions felt real. That is a quality I love in a good book.
I particularly enjoyed the suspense of not knowing exactly what the heroes were going to find on their adventure. There were some unexpected twists and an addition of characters late into the book. Thankfully, they in no way stilted the story, but rather added to it.
The book follows two separate quests and the manner in which Craig switches from one adventure to the other is flawless. I never felt the need to skip past one story, but felt tied to both stories at the same time.
All-in-all I thoroughly enjoyed Zoolin Vale and the Chalice of Ringtar and only have praise for it. It left me wanting more! I can hardly wait for the next installment.
As many of you know, I like to take photos. I’m by no means a photographer and I only ever snap pics with my Motorola MB525 (because I’m too poor/stupid to get an actual camera).
I love having my “camera” in my hand all of the time though so for now, my phone works.
For the fun of it, I created a tumblr where I post my favourite photos. And it’s fun! They’re not amazing but I like them and that’s what counts, right?
You can take a look at it, if you like. Just click the image below.
I have a question for the legit photographers out there – Do you guys get hacked when you see silly pretend photographers like myself punting our low quality wares? Just wondering.
This young guy wrote this poem explaining just how different Jesus and Religion really are. THIS is what I believe in. THIS is what I do each time I’m going to a “church meeting”. This dude has the right idea.
To Jefferson Bethke – I say thank you!
If you don’t want to watch the video below, at the very least please read the poem:
What if I told you, Jesus came to abolish religion? What if I told you getting you to vote republican, really wasn’t his mission? Because republican doesn’t automatically mean Christian, And just because you call some people blind, doesn’t automatically give you vision. If religion is so great, why has it started so many wars? Why does it build huge churches, but fails to feed the poor? Tells single moms God doesn’t love them if they’ve ever been divorced Yet God in the Old Testament actually calls the religious people whores Religion preaches grace, but another thing they practice, Tend to ridicule Gods people, they did it to John the Baptist, Cant fix their problems, so they try to mask it, Not realizing that’s just like sprayin perfume on a casket Because the problem with religion is that it never gets to the core, It’s just behavior modification, like a long list of chores. Let’s dress up the outside, make things look nice and neat, Its funny that’s what they do to mummies, while the corpse rots underneath, Now I ain’t judging I’m just saying be careful of putting on a fake look, Because there’s a problem if people only know that you’re a Christian by that little section on your facebook In every other aspect of life you know that logics unworthy Its like saying you play for the lakers just because you bought a jersey But see I played this game too; no one seemed to be on to me, I was acting like church kid, while addicted to pornography. I’d go to church on Sunday, but on saturday getting faded, Acting as if I was simply created to have sex and get wasted. Spend my whole life putting on this façade of neatness, But now that I know Jesus, I boast in my weakness. If grace is water, then the church should be an ocean, Cuz its not a museum for good people, it’s a hospital for the broken I no longer have to hide my failures I don’t have to hide my sin, Because my salvation doesn’t depend on me, it depends on him. because when I was Gods enemy and certainly not a fan, God looked down on me and said, “I want that man!” Which is so different from religious people, and why Jesus called em fools Don’t you see hes so much better than just following some rules? Now let me clarify, I love the church, I love the bible, and I believe in sin But my question, is if Jesus were here today, would your church let Him in? Remember He was called a drunkard and a glutton by “religious men” The Son of God not supported self-righteousness, not now, not then.
Now back to the topic, one thing I think is vital to mention, How Jesus and religion are on opposite spectrums, One is the work of God one is a man made invention, One is the cure and one is the infection. Because Religion says do, Jesus says done. Religion says slave, Jesus says son, Religion puts you in shackles but Jesus sets you free. Religion makes you blind, but Jesus lets you see.
This is what makes religion and Jesus two different clans, Religion is man searching for God, but Christianity is God searching for man. Which is why salvation is freely mine, forgiveness is my own, Not based on my efforts, but Christ’s obedience alone. Because he took the crown of thorns, and blood that dripped down his face He took what we all deserved, that’s why we call it grace. While being murdered he yelled “father forgive them, they know not what they do”, Because when he was dangling on that cross, he was thinking of you He paid for all your sin, and then buried it in the tomb, Which is why im kneeling at the cross now saying come on there’s room So know I hate religion, in fact I literally resent it, Because when Jesus cried It is finished, I believe He meant it.
Once again, our freedom of speech is being attacked. I understand that steps need to be taken to protect copyright but this is insane. And it puts us all at risk.
